The Circle of Life: What goes around, comes around

I recently had a personal experience that has reminded me of the truth behind the saying, “What goes around, comes around,” particularly in the world of energy.

Stored Emotions

Earlier this week, I had a powerful encounter with the reemergence of an old injury. It took me back to the year 2000 when I slipped on ice and endured a high ankle sprain on my right leg. The recovery process was lengthy, spanning over a year, and it was during this time that I discovered the transformative power of Rolfing. Developed by the brilliant Ida Rolf, Rolfing is a system for realigning the body’s soft tissues. Through a series of ten 90-minute sessions, practitioners work deeply within the soft tissue to restore proper alignment. This process not only involves physical discomfort but also serves as a catalyst for releasing stored emotions.

For 23 years, I have been free from any ankle-related issues. However, this week, almost as if it had just happened, the pain and symptoms resurfaced. Strangely enough, I hadn’t twisted or fallen on my ankle; the trigger was a seemingly unrelated massage session. It was then that I realized the incredible power of massage in awakening dormant energy and releasing stored emotions within the soft tissues.

Lessons Learned

As I find myself recovering from this “not-so-sprained” ankle, I recognize that the discomfort I am experiencing is an embodiment of the emotions stored in that very spot. In 2000, I was undergoing significant transformation, and now, once again, I find myself immersed in a period of profound change. In my resistance and hesitation to make decisions, I have unknowingly created a physical manifestation of my internal struggles.

Emotions, Energy and Physical Well-being

This journey has reminded me of the interconnectedness of our emotions, energy, and physical well-being. It has taught me the importance of slowing down, listening to my body, and embracing the process of transformation. By acknowledging the emotions and energy stored within, I can facilitate healing and growth.

Cultivate Positive Energy

I share this personal story with you to emphasize the significance of our energetic and emotional states in shaping our experiences. It serves as a reminder that what we put out into the world, whether it be positive or negative energy, often finds its way back to us. Therefore, let’s be mindful of the energy we cultivate within ourselves and extend to others, as it has the power to shape our lives and relationships.

If you have not listened to the last episode of my podcast This Life or Something Better, I encourage you to do so to learn more about this topic.  In the episode, How Dis-ease shows up in your body Bethany and I talk about this exact topic.  The Bonus Episode came out last week and I walk you through an energy scan on yourself.  To complement these two episodes, I will be doing a Facebook Live session in the This Life or Something Better group on Tuesday, June 6 at 7:00 p.m. to dive into the scan a little bit deeper.  Bring your questions from the energy scan and I’ll be happy to go into more detail with you.

Wishing you a transformative and harmonious journey ahead!
