Looking for love in all the wrong places

I hope you are all coming down off the holiday high. Today was “back to reality day” as I headed in for the beginning of a busy week. The energy of the world has taken another big shift and people are being asked to release the people, thoughts, ideas and actions that no longer serve their highest good. If you need help with that, join me this Sunday, January 1 at 12:00 noon for a free meditation to help you release 2011 and welcome in the new you of 2012.

As I look back over the years of my life, I am amazed at how I used to live my life.  It was an “if and then” life.  IF I was just more successful…if I was in a relationship…if I could just make more money…THEN I could….(you fill in the blank).   It was a definite time of learning for me and now a part of my life that I am able to utilize working with clients.  I’ve been through all of it so that I can help them through it all.  What I realized was that I was looking for love in all the wrong places.   When I stepped aside and took a look at the story I was telling myself about those experiences in my life, I could have won an Oscar for my performance as the lead role of the movie called “MY LIFE”.  I suggest to you that everything you are believing about the events and experiences of your life are not true.  They are simply a story you have created about them.  I’m not denying that they occurred.  It’s the emotions that you are carrying within your story that continues to hold you in such pain.  It’s your way of explaining it, without knowing all the facts, that holds you stuck in that energy.  When you can step outside of the story, you will have your reality and you will find love in your heart for you.

So as you get ready to head into 2012, adopt a new attitude.  Take a look at all the experiences of your life, past or current, and be honest with yourself about what you are telling yourself about them.  We often give these stories too much power over us because it justifies our being right, better, more sane or whatever you tell yourself.   We don’t keep these things in our life unless there is a pay off, positive or negative.  Release your stories and recognize that reality is a much better place to live.  Adopt the attitude that EVERYONE LOVES YOU, they just don’t know it yet!  Most of all make sure that YOU love YOU.
