The holiday season will soon be upon us. I visited Sam’s Club back in July and they already had an aisle of Christmas decorations out. For many of us the holidays are a time of family and friends, gifts and giving, joy and peace. For others, it is a time of loss, pain and grief over the loss of a loved one. It is one of the busiest times of the year for Mediums and spiritual counselors. People in grief just want a connection. They need to know that their loved ones in spirit are okay. Our loved ones in spirit are in a much better place than we are.
We are the ones who need to know that WE are okay.
I’m so proud to be associated with Jennifer Johnson, a practitioner at the Center. I first met Jennifer as a client about four years ago. She was a seeker back then and I’m happy to say she found what she was seeking and so much more. I’ve watched her grow and develop into the amazing person she is today. She has made some of the hardest decisions in her life that many people would never even consider. Through all of life’s little challenges, she continued to thrive. As each one unfolded, she grew from it and realized that each situation was bringing her closer to what she really wanted to do with her life. I’m proud to say that she has arrived.
Jennifer’s goal is to work with end of life care and grief. A counselor by profession, she continued her education becoming a Death Midwife/Counselor. She is currently completing her coursework as a Celebrant with a focus on funerals and healing.
When Jennifer asked if she could run Bereavement groups at the Center, I resoundingly said YES! She just ran the first group the other night and had a great turnout. The groups run on the last Sunday of each month from 5:00 – 6:00 p.m. For the holiday season, here is the schedule:
- November 23 – 6:15 – 7:15 p.m.
- November 30 – 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
- December 21 – 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
- December 28 – 5:00 – 6:00 p.m.
For information on the groups, call the Center 860.430.9801 or contact Jennifer directly via email at [email protected].
